Where’s my yogurt?
To my surprise this afternoon, I opened the fridge and realized…
I’ve run out of yogurt.
“Nevermind. I’ll skip the yogurt and nuts routine. I’m sure something else will work.”
Three bananas. One big, fresh tomato. One little apple, left in the fridge for dunno how long. Cut them all up, and put them in a bowl. Looks like quite a lot.
Downed it all with a cup of coffee. “It should do fine,” I thought, as I headed to Kepong Metropolitan Park. I was wrong.
I was already feeling a little hungry during the drive. “It should be alright when I start running,” I thought. Wrong again.
Halfway around the lake, I felt like I was tiring already. Three quarters around the lake, I was feeling hunger pangs. My arms felt weak, couldn’t hold them up properly. Everything felt weak. Lemah. Bo lat. Mou leet. Dunno how else to say it.
Slowed down to a halt at the 1-round mark. A horrendous time of 18 minutes. That’s even slower than my split in a 2-round run.
Let’s go through the fuel intake again. And learn from it.
Bananas, apples and tomatoes. Vitamins, yes. Fibre, yes. Energy, no. Or rather, severely not enough. It is something not to be repeated again. Next time, no yogurt, no go. It’s detrimental.
Anyway, I am not alone. I’m not the only one experiencing weakness because of hunger…
It’s the fasting month. Bulan puasa for the Muslims…
Energy levels are at a low…
Is it my imagination, or is the school very much quieter…
Can you spot the sleeping guy?
Spotted, and just woken up…
All pictures taken from 4 Ibnu Khaldun. I was curious who Ibnu Khaldun was. So I Wiki-ed it.
“Ibnu Khaldun was a famous historian, scholar, theologian, and statesman. Born in North Africa, in present day Tunisia, he is considered the forerunner of several social scientific disciplines; namely demography, cultural history, historiography, the philosophy of history, sociology, and modern economics. He is sometimes considered to be a “father” of these disciplines, or even the social sciences in general, for anticipating many elements of these disciplines centuries before they were founded. He is best known for his Muqaddimah (known as Prolegomenon in Greek), the first volume of his book on universal history, Kitab al-Ibar.”
The class has a lot to live up to.
